FAQ
Hiring a Professional Voice Actor: The Production Guide & FAQ
Casting professional voice talent shouldn't involve guesswork, technical delays, or surprise licensing invoices. Whether you are producing a national broadcast commercial, a multi-module e-learning curriculum, or a dynamic corporate explainer, here is everything creative directors, sound engineers, and video producers need to know about working with my studio.
1. Tripp, what's your turnaround time, and do you offer rush delivery?
Standard orders feature guaranteed same-day turnaround. Most commercial spots (:15, :30, :60) and narration scripts under 1,000 words are recorded, cleaned, and delivered within hours of receiving the finalized copy.
* Rush Delivery Available: If a spot changes on the mix stage and you need audio immediately, rush turnaround is available around the clock. Rush requests carry a $200 minimum fee, dependent on script scope and engineering requirements.
2. Can we direct you in real time via live remote session?
You bet you can! You don't even have to see my face if you don't want to. Real-time directed sessions eliminate misaligned line reads and get your spot approved on the first pass. I can connect directly to your DAW, studio, or conference line using your preferred platform:
* Source-Connect Standard (lossless remote studio bridge)
* Zoom / Google Meet
* Phone Patch / SessionLinkPRO
Live sessions can be scheduled at any time of day, accommodating production teams across Pacific, Eastern, and European time zones.
3. What are your home recording studio specs and deliverables?
You receive pristine, broadcast-ready audio that drops straight into your timeline without room reflections, comb filtering, or noise-floor headaches.
* Isolation: Professional WhisperRoom Vocal Booth ensuring a dead, quiet acoustic environment.
* Microphone Locker: Matched to your project's tone:
* Sennheiser MKH 416: Industry-standard shotgun mic for cutting through heavy commercial mixes, trailers, and promos.
* Neumann TLM 103: Pristine, large-diaphragm condenser offering high detail for intimate corporate and narrative reads.
* Audio-Technica AT4047: Vintage-flavored FET condenser delivering warm, textured, and grounded character.
* Signal Chain & Interface: Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo with premium preamps and AD/DA conversion.
* Deliverables: Delivered in any format requested (24-bit/48kHz broadcast WAV, 44.1kHz AIFF, or high-bitrate MP3), supplied raw or pre-edited and de-breathed.
4. What is your revision and pickup policy?
Every agreement includes up to three complimentary pickups to guarantee the performance hits the exact cadence, energy, and inflection your creative director envision.
Performance adjustments and minor pacing trims within the original script are covered. If script changes or extensive copy rewrites occur after the initial delivery, revised sections are billed at standard nominal pickup rates.
5. How are usage rights and licensing structured?
Voiceover licensing is transparent and pegged directly to recognized industry standards:
* Pricing Standards: Rates and media buyouts follow SAG-AFTRA benchmarks and the industry-standard GVAA Rate Guide.
* Union Status: I am a non-union voice actor, offering flexible direct-hire contracts while honoring fair industry valuation across broadcast TV, regional radio, paid social flights (OTT/digital), and perpetual internal non-broadcast usage.
6. Can we get a custom audition or scratch track?
Yes. If you need to test how a vocal timbre sits against your temp score or sound design before committing to a contract, custom auditions and scratch tracks are available on your actual script.
* Scratch tracks and custom reads are provided watermarked.
* Depending on project scope, a nominal scratch/audition production fee may apply; however, this fee is 100% credited toward your final invoice once the project is officially awarded.
